Mayoral Town Hall on Arts and Culture

The mayoral candidates for the City of St. Louis will gather for a town hall style event focused on topics that matter to the arts and culture community in St. Louis. Topics include leadership and policy development for the arts, art education, funding, creative entrepreneurship, gentrification, housing, and transportation. The event will be moderated by Sylvester Brown, journalist, writer, and founder of the Sweet Potato Project. Confirmed candidates are Jeffrey Boyd (D), Antonio French (D), William Haas (D), Tishaura Jones (D), Lyda Krewson (D), Jonathan McFarland (Gr), and Lewis Reed (D). We are awaiting confirmation from other candidates.

Please take the Citizen Artist St. Louis priorities survey on our website, which will help the organizers and moderators focus topics to be discussed with the candidates. These ideas will also be distributed to the candidates.

The event is supported by Critical Conversations, Critical Mass for the Visual Arts and The Luminary. The event will take place at The Luminary, located at 2701 Cherokee Street, at 7 pm. The event is free and open to the public.
